presented by Jackson McGrail, Learning Center Peer Trainer & EPD Senior   In this event, we will share practical ways to implement Serum into your tracks, and showcase the different styles of bass sounds that can be made. Serum is a software wavetable synthesizer made by Xfer Records.  Capable of easily making great bass patches, Serum is often used in genres such as Dubstep, Trap, and Bass House. We will dissect bass patches in the style of artists such as Skrillex, Kill the Noise, and Virtual Riot, then practice creating sounds from scratch.

The contemporary producer has a variety of tools at their disposal to write songs and craft their music. Many production workflows take a hybrid approach, combining recorded instruments with MIDI tracks and utilizing a wide variety of hardware and software. In this event, we will produce a track from scratch and showcase how to record audio, sequence MIDI tracks and incorporate analog synthesizers and drum machines into your productions.
